New Line // eyebobs:

As the days grow warmer and brighter, eyebobs is bringing its spring/summer line of stylish, accessible frames into full bloom. This 20-year-old designer brand that continues to shake up the eyewear category is introducing 17 brand new frame styles with three-to-four proprietary colorizations per frame and 18 new colors with existing frames this season.

A few stand-out trends are driving this seasonal offering.

Trend #1: Pale Crystal Acetates

trend 1.jpg

Reflecting the warmer, brighter months ahead will be the subtle jewel-toned, transparent acetate crystal frames found in the popular round collection, “Eleanor,” featuring a classic saddle bridge. This new crystal toned collection is inspired by best-selling crystal frame, “Waylaid,” with a thicker, vintage-inspired frame with a slick keyhole bridge. These pale, transparent frames blend well with the face and offer a warm, inviting look. (“Eleanor” is included in this kit).

Trend #2: Fade Coloration

trend 2.jpg

From big and bold to barely there, these bold, rounded frames are turning heads. New techniques with color fading deliver a flash of crystal acetate found in “Dorothy” and “Max,”, giving these beauties a fashion-forward silhouette in vibrant tones like blush, blonde tortoise, blue and purple. (“Max” is included in this kit).

Trend #3: Resurgence of Metal Frames

trend 3.jpg

Given advances in Windsor Rim design, metal frames are taking on a new life with a thin layer of showy acetate either hugging the outside of the frame or inset between the frame and lens. Square frames, like “Inside” and “Outside,” celebrate a refined steampunk look and make a statement.

Trend #4: P3 Takes Off

trend 4.jpg

We feel the need, the need for speed, with these WWII inspired round frames. The popular “Finley” style represents this look, which are ultra-lightweight with a keyhole bridge and geometric brow. Spring rushes in with warm acetate colors of blue and purple, and blonde tortoise.

Prices are $89 for readers, $129 for Blue Light, $199 for Rx and $299 for progressive. eyebobs are sold at six brand stores (Twin Cities, Denver, Boston and D.C.), online at eyebobs.com and at more than 2,000 specialty retail shops nationally. And, for the first time in its history, eyebobs can apply any lens (Rx, Blue Light, sunnies, etc.) to any frame, providing more than 25,000 possible combinations.
