Cherry Creek Fashion: Tori and Monica, you two have an impressive and extensive background in the wedding industry! You have worked in wedding planning and events since 2004. How did you transition into owning a bridal boutique, Platinum Bridal and why did you want to create this boutique?

Platinum Bridal: We took a brief break from planning while we launched Platinum Bridal but we are still wedding planners. We have recently relaunched Platinum Elegance Weddings & Events and are back in full swing.  As planners, we would always attend our clients’ bridal appointments as support. We quickly concluded that wedding dress shopping is the best part of wedding planning. It’s really the only part of wedding planning that is 100% about the bride. The wedding dress plays such a big part of the wedding day and is actually the focal point of the wedding. Being able to be a part of helping the bride choose her perfect dress is just as rewarding as planning an entire wedding. The excitement of dress shopping led us to opening our own bridal boutique.

CCF: What designers do you carry? How would you describe the aesthetic of the brands in the boutique?

PB: We carry fourteen bridal lines by six designers plus a private collection. We carry Allure Bridals, Eddy K Bridals, Ella Rosa, Kitty Chen Couture, Sophia Tolli  and Naama and Anat. We chose these designers because of their ability to provide great quality with beautiful, intricate details at exceptional prices.

CCF: Describe the process that a bride goes through to choose a gown at the store?

PB: First, we like to have the bride tell us about her wedding vision and her vision for her bridal look. She will be escorted to her private suite where we walk her through finding the right silhouette for her body, style, and level of comfort. The final step is helping the bride find details she loves until it ultimately leads to her finding the perfect dress for her wedding!

CCF: What are the top wedding dress or outfit trends for 2021-22?

PB: Plunging necklines and low backs are all the rave this season. In any silhouette these two features make brides look slimmer and taller. They add a subtle and classic sexiness to any wedding dress style. Color is also a popular trend. Whether it’s champagne, almond, mocha, light gold or nude tones, color makes lace details really pop. Brides are loving the colors of bridal gowns right now.

CCF: What advice can you give to brides about selecting an outfit that suits their personality? How do they know when they have chosen ‘the one’?

PB: We always like to encourage our brides not to put pressure on themselves to find “the one” right away. Sometimes it happens but sometimes it may take a while.  Brides should explore and be open to trying styles they never thought they would like. Afterall, brides-to-be are shopping for a girl they have never shopped for before, and that is herself as a bride. Shopping for a bridal gown is not like going to the mall and finding a cute dress for a party. The structure, fabrics, and cuts are completely different from regular dresses. What works for a bride in a normal dress may not flatter her in a bridal gown, and what doesn’t flatter her in a normal dress could make her look incredible in a bridal gown. One thing is for sure, when a bride puts on that dress that she compares everything else to in her mind, she loves the way it makes her look and feel, and she has a hard time taking off the sample, she will find the connection that makes that dress “the one”.
