Cherry Creek North Winter Wanderland

Cherry Creek North recently announced the official lineup for the second annual Winter Wanderland, a collection of free holiday offerings throughout the neighborhood, beginning Thursday, Nov. 18, and running through Friday, Dec. 31. Festivities include a dazzling display of nearly one million twinkling lights on more than 600 trees spread throughout the walkable neighborhood, an opportunity to win a $1,000 Cherry Creek North shopping spree, as well as the debut of an internationally acclaimed interactive art installation, domino effect.  Additional seasonal events include Saturday Night Lights with complimentary holiday treats and festive entertainment, a Chanukah celebration, and the Cherry Creek North Holiday Market, produced by Fetch Concepts.

“We want to provide a place for our community to create lasting memories they return to year after year.  This event has grown into an incredible opportunity for families to feel the glow of the holidays around every corner in Cherry Creek North,” said Nick LeMasters, president and CEO of the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District (BID). “These free events provide even more reasons to visit Cherry Creek North, and enjoy more than 270 shops, restaurants, art galleries, spas, salons, hotels, and other businesses.”

The lineup of Cherry Creek North’s Winter Wanderland free events includes:

Winter Wanderland Light Walk (daily, Thursday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Dec. 31): Cherry Creek North’s stunning canopy of more than 600 trees is adorned with nearly a million twinkling lights, creating a bright and festive atmosphere, even as the days get shorter. Illuminated 24-hours a day with LED energy-efficient bulbs, visitors are encouraged to wander the neighborhood’s 16-blocks to find eight special musical trees, elaborately decorated with strands of lights choreographed to music in a timed show. At each musical tree, visitors can register for a $1,000 Cherry Creek North shopping spree.

domino effect (daily, Thursday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Dec. 31): Making their United States debut in Cherry Creek North this year, interactive art installation domino effect by Creos features 120 brightly colored dominos, each with its own sound profile. This international exhibit by Ingrid Ingrid is an entertaining experience that brings people together, fostering a spirit of cooperation. Visitors are encouraged to play together and collaborate in an outdoor setting, creating an infinite variety of musical and luminous effects in the process.

Cherry Creek North Holiday Market (daily, Thursday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Dec. 24): Holiday shoppers have even more to get excited about, in addition to Cherry Creek North’s robust and diverse retail offerings, Cherry Creek North Holiday Market, produced by Fetch Concepts, returns to Fillmore St., located between 1st and 2nd  Ave., with offerings from 30 local makers, designers, and artists, as well as live music, festive drinks, and decor.

Small Business Weekend (Friday through Sunday, Nov. 26-28): Small Business Weekend highlights Cherry Creek North’s more than 125 locally-owned shops and 30+ locally owned restaurants and invites visitors to join the nationwide Shop Small movement to help small businesses and communities thrive. 

Chanukah Celebration (Sunday, Nov. 28, 5:00 p.m.): Chabad of Cherry Creek will host a community Menorah Lighting celebration (open to the public) at Gart Plaza on 3rd Ave. & Milwaukee St. on the first night of Chanukah. Featuring face painting, fire juggling, traditional sweet treats, and fun activities for all ages.

Saturday Night Lights (Saturdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18, from 5-7 p.m.): Festive lights, fresh air and families make the perfect recipe for a new holiday tradition. Visitors are encouraged to experience the buzzing and bright energy during Saturday Night Lights, a family-friendly holiday celebration, featuring live music, entertainment, and ample ways to shop locally throughout the neighborhood.
