Editor-in-Chief of Flora Fauna Magazine, CARLEE HENDERSON, founded the publication in 2016. The zine produces strong editorial writing with artistically driven photography highlighting local creatives. The goal has been to share all things art, music, and design in a progressive and savvy demeanor, online and in print. The zine also gives opportunity to avant-garde photographers and writers to turn out articles and storyboards about every day events in a new perspective of the city's underground art, music and fashion scene. In this month’s issue, Carlee shares her top 10 favorite things for the fall season.

1. Fall Fashion Item: Jackets! Longline wool coats, blazers, faux fur, leather, all of it. They’re flattering, functional and a staple in my wardrobe.

2. Clothing Boutique: The Ten Penny Store. Matt and Kelley Vogel are the owners of this local vintage boutique that offers a huge variety of wearable pieces from the past. Best vintage Levi’s source in town! @tenpennystore

3. Bar: Tooey’s off Colfax. They offer a huge patio for warm weather drinking. You’ll find Priscilla Jerez behind the bar who decorated the eclectic space that leaves your eye wandering to find eccentric, humorous and cool pieces curated in unexpected places. @tooeysoffcolfax

4. Restaurant/Cafe: Misfits Snack Bar inside Middleman Bar. Chef Bo Porytko’s food is bold and unexpected, offering a blend of comfort and upscale flavors that challenge one’s ideas of ‘bar food’. @misfitssnackbar @middlemanco

5. Music Band: Wave Decay. Their sound is a blend of psychedelic, shoegaze, krautrock and surf influences. They’re preparing to go into the studio to record an EP with Sailor Records and were just a part of our latest collaborative project, ‘Live from the Hive’. @wavedecay

6. Book/Magazine: Our latest zine, ‘Art, Interrupted’! We highlighted 5 local artists who are setting the tone for what the next wave of Denver’s art scene will look like. Find other local zines at MATTER Ltd. in RiNo Art District. @matterdesign

7. Website: Vossling. Owner Sierra Voss uses her skills as an Art Director, Set & Wardrobe Stylist and Creative Consultant to execute her clients unique content needs. She works with brands to stretch their audience's imagination - that makes them feel something new. @vossling

8. Movie / TV Series: ‘Live from the Hive’ movie screening, out mid-September. Mitch Mitchum of Hive Studios and Alex & Devin Snyder of Liquid Disguise Productions professionally record and film local bands that they then turn into a music video, while engineering songs for each band to put toward future projects. @hidive_denver @liquiddisguise

9. Instagram Follow: Boys Club, a new all-female skate culture collective founded by the women at Satellite, including Alexandré Brexa Hooson, an original FLORA || FAUNA member who’s not only an amazing photographer but a marketing guru with style. @boysclubco

10. Beauty Product: Indie Lee Co-Q10 toner. It’s changed the tone and texture of my skin and is one of the first products where I see a significant difference. It can be found at AILLEA, a Denver based shop that offers a variety of natural brands who believe in clean beauty. @ailleabeauty
